Platform Settings
Control every aspect of how your GoRefer platform is configured — from onboarding steps to payout rules to legal pages.
Overview
Platform Settings is the master control panel for your GoRefer instance. Admins and Owners use this area to configure the foundational behaviors of the platform — things that apply across all users, all clients, and all workflows.
General Settings
- Firm name, logo, and contact information
- Platform time zone and default language
- Business hours (used for appointment scheduling and notification timing)
- Public firm profile page visibility toggle
- Default currency for commissions and payouts
Onboarding Configuration
Control what new users (preparers and admins) see and complete when they first join the platform.
- Enable or disable specific onboarding steps for each user role
- Add a custom welcome video or message
- Require profile completion before accessing the dashboard
- Set onboarding deadline (e.g., complete within 7 days of invite)
- Configure the affiliate enrollment flow and required fields
Scheduling Settings
- Default appointment duration (15 min, 30 min, 60 min)
- Buffer time between appointments
- Maximum advance booking window (e.g., up to 60 days)
- Cancellation and rescheduling policy rules
- Calendar sync settings (connect to external calendars)
Payout Settings
Configure how and when commission payouts are processed for your platform.
- Payout schedule: weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly
- Minimum payout threshold (e.g., do not pay out until balance reaches $50)
- Payout method: direct deposit, check, or platform credit
- Tax withholding rules and W-9 collection requirements
- Grace period before a referral commission is considered final
Mapping Templates
Mapping templates define how data fields from intake forms and external integrations map to your internal client record fields.
- Create named templates for different intake types or integration sources
- Drag-and-drop field mapper to connect source fields to destination fields
- Set default values for unmapped fields
- Test a mapping template against a sample record before activating
Legal Pages
Manage the legal content that users see during signup, on the client portal, and in your email communications.
- Terms of Service — editable rich-text editor with version history
- Privacy Policy — link to external URL or host content directly on the platform
- Client Portal Disclaimer — displayed on the portal login screen
- Affiliate Agreement — must be accepted before affiliates can receive commissions
- All legal documents have a "last updated" timestamp shown to users
Platform Health & Maintenance
- View platform status and GIO AI service health at a glance
- Scheduled maintenance window setting — platform shows a maintenance banner
- Data export — download a full export of all platform data (CSV/JSON)
- Platform reset — available in sandbox/test mode only; wipes all non-production data
