Testimonials
Collect, review, and publish client testimonials to build trust and showcase your firm's track record.
Overview
The Testimonials module lets you gather written feedback from your clients after successful engagements. Approved testimonials can be displayed on your landing pages, client portal, and public profile to attract new clients and strengthen your brand.
How Testimonials Are Submitted
- Clients receive an automatic email invitation after their return is filed or engagement is closed
- The invitation links to a simple, branded submission form
- Clients write a short review, rate their experience (1–5 stars), and optionally upload a photo
- Submission does not require a GoRefer account — anyone with the link can submit
- Staff can also manually request a testimonial from any client record
Review & Approval Workflow
All submitted testimonials go through an admin review queue before being published.

Submission Received
The testimonial appears in the Testimonials → Pending Review queue. You receive an in-app and email notification.

Admin Reviews
Preview the testimonial, star rating, and client name. Edit spelling if needed (no content changes allowed to preserve authenticity).

Approve or Decline
Approved testimonials are immediately published to the locations you've configured. Declined testimonials are archived with a reason note.
Publishing Testimonials
Configure where approved testimonials are displayed:
- On your firm's public GoRefer profile page
- Embedded widget on your website (copy a single script tag)
- Featured section on landing pages you create
- Client portal welcome screen
- Choose to display the client's full name, first name only, or initials
Managing the Testimonials Library
- Sort and filter by star rating, date, preparer, or status
- Pin your best testimonials to always appear at the top
- Archive old testimonials without deleting them
- Export all testimonials as a CSV for your records
